Baby steps

So here it is, day three...
Day one, of course, was Monday, and it went fine.  Day two, kind of a struggle, made some bad choices.  Day three is going much better.  In the past, every time I started this journey, I always felt like I had to do everything perfectly, right from the beginning, or I failed.  Gotta eat right, gotta journal and track my points, gotta drink all my water, gotta exercise.  That's a lot to tackle all at once.  So, I decided to be kind to myself and ease into it this time...take baby steps. 

The first baby step is to get rid of the junk, the left over Christmas goodies, the temptations in the house...and replace it with healthy things to eat, and then just concentrate on eating healthier.  No counting points, no journaling...not this week.  It's been a bit of a challenge.  You'd think it would be easier, right?  Old habits die hard, I guess.  I am still reading food labels and figuring points of foods before eating them, but that's okay.  I have filled my fridge with fruits, veggies, yogurt, lean meats...lots of good for me things.  I also took my measurements and figured my BMI.  That I will post later, along with my starting weight and "before" photos.  I plan to take my measurements monthly, as well as take new photos, and will post them so all can see my progress.

Baby steps to come...journaling, drinking 8 glasses of water daily, exercise. 

I'm a huge fan of The Biggest Loser, I've never missed an episode.  I secretly want to marry Bob, I think he is so hot :)  This season has the biggest contestants ever...which seems to be a running theme...every season, the people get bigger and bigger.  Pretty soon they are gonna have to extend their season or nobody's gonna make it to their goal by the finale!  Ya gotta give those contestants props though, because I'm sure it ain't easy, going from sitting on their couches, watching the show on TV, eating junk, to working out 6, 7, even 8 hours a day with Jillian screaming in your face.  So far I don't have a favorite that I'm rooting for, but I'm sure that will change before long.

I'm not really sure just how often I will blog, but it will be at least once a week.  I would love to hear any comments you may have, and feel free to share my blog with others.
